Dental x-rays are an essential diagnostic tool that allows us to see what's happening beneath the surface of your teeth and gums. We use modern digital x-ray technology that produces high-quality images with significantly reduced radiation exposure.
Many dental problems are hidden from visual examination. X-rays reveal decay between teeth, infections at the root, bone loss from gum disease, impacted teeth, cysts and tumours, and the position of teeth not yet erupted. Early detection means earlier, simpler treatment.
We use state-of-the-art digital x-ray equipment that provides instant, high-resolution images while reducing radiation exposure by up to 90% compared to traditional film x-rays. Images can be enhanced for better diagnosis and easily stored in your digital records.
We use different types of x-rays depending on what we need to see: bitewing x-rays for detecting decay between teeth, periapical x-rays for viewing entire teeth including roots, and panoramic x-rays for a comprehensive view of all teeth, jaws, and surrounding structures.
Dental x-rays are very safe, with radiation exposure comparable to the amount received from natural background sources in a single day. We only take x-rays when clinically necessary and always use protective lead aprons to minimise exposure further.
