How it works

01

Call us first

Contact us as soon as possible. We'll triage your situation over the phone and arrange for you to be seen on the same day wherever possible.

02

Assessment

On arrival we carry out a thorough clinical assessment, including X-rays if needed, to understand exactly what's happening.

03

Pain relief first

Our priority is to relieve your pain and stabilise the situation. We'll talk through your options clearly before any treatment begins.

04

Follow-up plan

Once the emergency is resolved, we'll discuss a plan for any further treatment needed to fully restore your oral health.

What counts as a dental emergency?

Severe toothache, knocked-out or loose teeth, broken teeth, lost fillings or crowns, dental abscesses, and uncontrolled bleeding all qualify. If you're in significant pain or distress, please don't hesitate to call us.

Dentist or A&E?

For dental pain and oral injuries, your dentist is the right call. However, if you have difficulty breathing or swallowing, severe facial swelling, or facial trauma from an accident, please go to A&E immediately or call 999.

Common questions

Will I be seen on the same day?+
We do our very best to accommodate emergency patients on the same day. Please call us first thing in the morning if possible. This gives us the best chance of fitting you in.
What should I do if I knock a tooth out?+
Keep the tooth moist: hold it in your cheek, place it in cold milk, or use a Tooth Survival Box if available. Get to us within an hour for the best chance of replanting it successfully.
Can I visit if I'm not already a patient?+
Yes. We welcome new patients in an emergency. Please call us and we'll do our best to see you as soon as possible.
How much does an emergency appointment cost?+
Emergency appointment fees vary depending on the treatment required. Please visit our fees page or call us for current pricing.
