What Does Screening Involve?
We carry out a careful visual and physical examination of your lips, tongue, cheeks, the floor and roof of your mouth, and your throat. We are looking for any unusual patches, lumps, ulcers, or changes in colour or texture that could indicate an early problem. We also feel the lymph nodes in your neck. The whole process takes just a few minutes and is completely painless.
Who Is at Risk?
Mouth cancer can affect anyone, but certain factors increase risk: smoking or using tobacco products, drinking alcohol regularly, infection with the HPV virus, and prolonged sun exposure to the lips. However, a significant proportion of cases occur in people with none of these risk factors, which is why screening for everyone matters.
Signs to Watch For Between Visits
Do not wait for your next check-up if you notice any of the following: a mouth ulcer that has not healed after three weeks, a red or white patch inside your mouth, an unusual lump or swelling in the mouth or neck, persistent difficulty swallowing or a feeling that something is stuck in your throat, or unexplained pain or numbness in the mouth or lips. What Happens if Something is Found?
If we notice anything that concerns us, we will discuss it with you calmly and refer you promptly to the appropriate specialist for further investigation. In most cases, findings turn out to be harmless, but we will always act quickly to give you peace of mind and the best possible outcome.

Geeta explained everything in detail after an examination of my teeth that was probably the most explorative check I've ever had in all my years. No hard sell and a genuine authentic explanation of my teeth (and related oral health). High tech equipment and no uncomfortable processes to map teeth and gums. In my views this is a totally professional service that's almost worth looking forward to.
