Wisdom teeth often cause problems as they emerge, typically in your late teens or early twenties. When they become impacted, infected, or cause crowding, removal is often the best solution. We make the process as smooth and comfortable as possible.
Removal is recommended when wisdom teeth are impacted (stuck in the jaw), partially erupted (leading to infection risk), causing pain or swelling, damaging adjacent teeth, contributing to crowding, or associated with cysts or other pathology.
Simple extractions of fully erupted wisdom teeth are straightforward. Impacted teeth may require surgical extraction, where we make a small incision in the gum and may remove some bone. We ensure you're completely numb and comfortable throughout.
Most patients recover within a few days to a week. Swelling and discomfort are normal but manageable with prescribed medication and ice packs. We'll provide detailed aftercare instructions and schedule a follow-up if needed.
Not all wisdom teeth need removing - some erupt without problems and function normally. We'll monitor your wisdom teeth and recommend removal only if problems arise or are likely. X-rays help us assess their position and predict potential issues.
